Melvindale High School football players facing sexual assault charges

Melvindale police are investigating allegations of sexual assault. The accused are members of the Melvindale High School varsity football team.

The incident took place after the homecoming dance last weekend. Two teenagers, 16 and 17, are in custody, accused of assaulting a girl, 14, at a Comfort Inn at an after party.

Police are looking for others who may have been in the room while the girl was being attacked. They say there may have been as many as 10 other males in the room at the time.

The superintendent and principal of Melvindale High School have yet to comment.

Police are also looking for the parents who reserved the room.

  1. That's awful. However, it happens more than we know. I am just glad that she stepped up and told someone.
