New Book "Lost Detroit" Features Historic Buildings

Recently, the Detroit Free Press featured photos from writer Dan Austin's book, ""Lost Detroit: Stories Behind the Motor City's Majestic Ruins". The photographs, which were taken by photographer Sean Doerr, feature different ruined historical buildings around Detroit and the history of those buildings. Among those pictures on www.freep.com are photographs of Michigan Central Station, the Grand Army of the Republic Building, Broderick Tower, United Artists Theatre, and the Eastown Theatre. One of the most impressive photographs in Austin's book is a picture of the Michigan Theatre in Detroit - an ornate opera house that is now being used as a parking garage. Below is a map of the sites mentioned in Austin's book.
