The Flint Islamic center is trying to end Islamophobia in light of workplace discrimination occurring across the country and the controversy over the new Islamic center near ground zero. The group has and continues to hold frequent open houses to introduce people to what Islam really stands for and answer questions that they may have. They are trying to do away with the misconceptions that people may have about the faith, of which 1 billion people practice. The next planned event is set for Nov. 16th, 2010, or in Islam, the second Eid.
